Andi Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts filmed an hour long episode in Folkestone, which was aired on BBC2 in April 2024, just before the start of Music In May. The show celebrated Folkestone’s multi-culturalism and recognised the strength of Folkestone’s music, combining Andi Oliver’s two greatest loves – music and food!
Andi and her team prepared food inspired by local community groups and fed the masses at a mini festival on The Bandstand on The Leas, showcasing the diverse range and culture of Folkestone’s local musicians.
Folkestone Music Town CIC worked closely with the production team and were able to provide the opportunity for various local musicians and performers to feature on national television, helping to raise their profile and grow their respective audiences and fanbases.
The Folkestone Music Town team continue to fly the flag for Folkestone’s music scene, promoting Music in May festival and other year-round activities by giving interviews and news articles to local radio stations.
A regular feature on The Dominic King Show on BBC Radio Kent and Radio Folkestone, the Folkestone Music Town team also help connect radio shows and presenters with local artists, helping them develop relationships and opportunities for growth.
Spreading the word and sharing the love is what it’s all about! Folkestone Music Town CIC is grateful to receive support and profile, partnering with local online and physical publications, such as Folkestone Foghorn and KentLive, both of whom regularly feature news articles on Folkestone’s music scene, local artists and venues.
In addition to third party publishers, Folkestone Music Town design and print 5,000 full colour glossy brochures for the Music In May festival, helping promote all music events across the town.
