Green Diesel Folk band that plays psychfolk, acidfolk, and folkrock and this is their first time performing at The Music Workshop. ailing from Faversham in Kent, folk-rock band Green Diesel first emerged in 2009 and take their inspiration from the depths of English folk lore and legend and the classic folk rock sound of their predecessors Fairport Convention and The Albion Band. Blending violin, mandolin, dulcimer and accordion with electric guitars and drums, Green Diesel’s sound is born from a love of traditional English music and a desire to bring it to a modern audience. Nick Lawrence “A Very Original, Great Singer/Songwriter!” – Kent Folk on BBC Radio Kent From foot-stomping folk to heartfelt ballads to historical commentary and story telling, Nick draws from the well of traditional and contemporary folk to compose his songs. His compositions evoke images of centuries gone by, be that wassailing in the winter, the re-telling of Viking raids in Kent, or spurned love, where the audience will be singing along, laughing, and maybe even shedding a tear throughout the performance. Easygoing folk songs from the UK coast. Almost entirely bedroom-produced in Folkestone, Kent, our debut album Idle is contemplative, sometimes creaky – played over squeaky floorboards & screaming seagulls. It stares at damp sand, breeze-worn trees, rainy but hopeful winters – at brighter futures.
