“A Very Original, Great Singer/Songwriter!” – Kent Folk on BBC Radio Kent
From foot-stomping folk to heartfelt ballads to historical commentary and story telling, Nick draws from the well of traditional and contemporary folk to compose his songs. His compositions evoke images of centuries gone by, be that wassailing in the winter, the re-telling of Viking raids in Kent, or spurned love. Nick also loves audience participation and has written songs that encourage call and response from the audience.
Nick recently supported award winning folk singer and multi-instrumentalist Seth Lakeman at the Dover Booking Hall, 2023 UK Americana Awards Best Live Act nominees The Noble Jacks at The Royal Tunbridge Wells Forum.
In July 2025, Nick returned from Ely Folk Festival where he was one of the winners of their Spotlight Competition which won him a slot on the main stage.
In this past year, Nick has travelled around the UK performing at festivals such as England’s Medieval Festival, UK West Coast Folk Festival, Ely Folk Festival (where Nick won the Spotlight Competition), Filey Folk Festival, Sandwich Folk & Ale Festival, Broadstairs Folk Week, and Rochester Sweeps Festival , and Southdowns Folk Festival. In the past, he has even performed at Eaglewood Folk Festival in Ontario, Canada, and was a regular on the much missed BBC Radio Kent show Douglas Welch’s “Kent Folk”.
