Lucy May Walker’s monthly Writer’s Round is an afternoon of original music in the style of a Nashville writers round where the 3 featured artists sit on the stage at the same time and take turns in playing their songs & telling the stories behind them. It is a chance for you to discover your new favourite artist in an intimate, cosy setting. Don’t miss out on experiencing the most wholesome music event Folkestone has to offer.

October Artists:

Lucy May Walker (Host)

Folkestone based Singer/Songwriter Lucy May began her music career by busking on the streets and train stations of London. It was here where she was discovered by BBC Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine who helped catapult her career by inviting Lucy to perform live on both his Radio and TV show. Since then she has supported the likes of Wet Wet Wet, Tony Hadley & Texas as well as selling out numerous UK tours of her own. Since moving to Folkestone in February this year, Lucy May Walker has made a name for herself, performing in various venues across the Town and collecting many fans along the way.

Daisy Clark

Daisy Clark performs mesmerising and heartbreaking indie pop music. With influences such as Olivia Rodrigo, Holly Humberstone, Billie Eilish, Phoebe Bridgers and Sabrina Carpenter, Daisy is Renowned for her vulnerable lyrics and ethereal vocals. She is a standout songwriter and viral sensation. Her latest track ” Attention’ received high praise on Radio 1’s Future Pop show.

James OR

Irish born James’ earnest songwriting has been praised for its authenticity and introspectiveness. Earning him numerous plaudits including a place on Hotpress’ ‘Ones to Watch’ listings, his music showcases a versatile artist of unique lyrical wit; always on the lookout for new meaning in the peculiarities of everyday living. Known also for his indefatigable live shows, he has shared stages with countless international acts such as Frank Turner, The Coronas, Gavin James, Twin Atlantic and Grant Lee Philips.

All ticket money is split between the artists and there is a tip bucket at the end – thank you in advance for your genority. If you prefer to pay cash, pop into the venue in advance with a fiver and Daniel will pop your name down x

The show will run from 4-6pm including an interval. Please arrive from 3.30pm when doors open to purchase a drink and grab yourself a seat (they go quickly). We also welcome you to stick around afterwards to chat with the artists.

Trigger Warning: Lucy will be performing a very delicate song about baby loss during this gig. If that topic is sensitive for you, please look after your mental health and either step outside when she performs the song, or give this gig a miss and come to the November gig instead. x
