With the award-winning London Bulgarian Choir, you can count on asymmetric rhythms and diaphonic dissonances woven into powerful tales of love and loss, fighting and celebration. Founded in 2000 by Dessislava Stefanova, a former singer with the legendary Philip Koutev Bulgarian National Folk Ensemble in Sofia, the Choir is now 40-strong, and their playful and passionate performances transcend language barriers and stir the emotions. The Choir’s spirited repertoire of London-flavoured Bulgarian folk songs, in traditional and contemporary arrangements, has been enjoyed at festivals and in concert halls and cathedrals all over Europe.
