Nãnci Correia the Portuguese-Londoner songstress that took the world by storm with her powerful vocals and many sounds, marks a 10 year journey from being at the forefront of the Jungle scene alongside musical pioneer’s all around the world to self taught producer, composer and powerful, compelling artist.

“Born in Lisbon, Portugal but raised in South London, Nãnci’s love of music and singing first became apparent at the tender age of five after singing her first solo at school in Bolivia, South America.

Nãnci first came to light in the duo ‘Nãnci & Phoebe’, a duo she formed with rapper, Phoebe Hibbert. The pair became an underground sensation, positioning themselves in the centre of this generation’s return to jungle. Online magazine ‘Who’s Jack’ wrote that Nãnci’s “powerful pipes rival those of Adele and Florence Welch.

Coming from a background of Jazz, Blues and Latin music Nãnci is now letting her music take a new direction, incorporating these original influences into her solo tracks. Her experiences resonate through her voice in what she calls a ‘powerful healing’, showing an honest and vulnerable side of Nãnci that hasn’t been heard before. Having performed globally Nanci is now stripping herself back to her most honest self and sound with rumours of a self-produced album on the way.”

Her experience as an artist allows her to bring an authentic and compelling sophistication to her heavenly sound and powerfully honest voice, while having previously worked closely with Congo Natty (aka Rebel MC), MTVBase added Nanci Correia’s release with Congo Natty, Tenor Fly and Daddy Freddy, ‘Get Ready’ to their video playlist, with their single also receiving prime time airplay from Radio 1 veterans Annie Mac, David Rodigan and Mista-Jam.
