We are very grateful to our sponsors, funders, and donors without whom much of our work simply would not be possible!
Music Videos in May is a project run by Screen South in partnership with Seaview Studio & Folkestone Music Town as part of the Music in May festival. It offers upcoming musicians the chance to have a professional music video created, and local directors their first chance to develop a music video concept and bring it forward. The videos are then filmed in 1 day and edited over 3 days. The project launched in 2024 and we are proud to bring you the final videos for 2025. ENJOY!
To finish off another magical Music In May festival, Folkestone Music Town hosted a Battle of the Bands event, on the iconic Leas Bandstand. 8 bands each had 15mins to impress the crowd and the judges. Working in partnership with Blue Reef, the winners of the Battle of the Bands, as chosen by a panel of esteemed judges, were invited to open the main stage at Blue Reef 2025 festival.
6 choirs took part in the Choir’Oke event for Music In May 2025.
The family friendly event entertained the audience with classic songs and singalongs.
The busking project for Music In May 2025 brought live music to various locations across the town centre. Over 20 buskers performed throughout the month, with additional performances on the Leas Bandstand, supporting the Battle of the Bands event.
As part of Music In May festival, Folkestone Music Town hosted educational workshops in various music-related subjects, led by local professionals. Support from funders meant the workshops were free to attend, helping musicians in the community try new things and develop their existing skills.
