To better understand Folkestone’s music scene, Folkestone Music Town CIC has begun to undertake audience surveys. Circulating around live music events, members of the team have been collating data. Online submissions have also been gathered and this information will continue to be part of the process of understanding the relationships between music venues, artists/bands and the public.

So far, the data suggests that around 50% of people attending music events in Folkestone have travelled from out of town. This encouraging statistic suggests that the musical offering of Folkestone as a town helps drive tourism, which in-turn, supports many local business, not just those specifically related to music.
