Boo Hewerdine with Support from Lorraine Lucas & Rick Whalen

Folkestone Songwriting Festival 2019 in association with Atkin Guitars will be hosting a brand new event this year –
The Atkin Stage at Eleto Jazz Rooms!!
…and who better to grace it’s stage than one of the best songwriters around today Boo Hewerdine

Boo is no stranger to the festival and has been a great supporter since the beginning and it’s an honour not only to have him as Special Guest tutor this year but yo have him perform on the Saturday evening concert.
Boo has just released his new album called Before so it’s great he has been able to fit the festival into his already heaving tour schedule.
Boo has also written with and for some of the top names at home and abroad with Eddie Reader, Kris Drever, Chris Difford, Brooks Williams, Darden Smith, Emily Barker, Edwina Hayes to name more than a few.
Boo’s gigs are always an aural delight with his beautifully crafted melodies and witty observant wordsmithery interspersed with numerous anecdotes and tall tales which makes a gig feel like a warm and personal experience.
Supporting Boo is Lorraine Lucas who will be performing a collection of songs written at or inspired from the many Boo Hewerdine songwriting retreats and workshops she has attended over the years most of which have never been performed live before and will be joined by her Troubled Family collaborator and another Atkin Guitars player Rick Whalen.
There will be an Atkin stand throughout the festival for you to peruse the wondrous exquisite workmanship of these instruments and dare to dream of owning one of your own…well Christmas is just round the corner!

Lorraine Lucas &The Troubled Family Last Waltz At Lime

I’ll be playing with the boys for our last ever gig at Lime before Andi and Cathy unplug for ventures new.
We will be doing songs off my last two albums and a load of new ones too ..it’s a bluesy country folky rocky kind a sound with guitars, dobros, mandolins, banjo….and harmony from Paul and Rick …it’s my goodbye as I’ll be off to Mexico a few days later and will miss their official farewells.
Be great to see you all xxx
